(drum roll pleeeaaassee…!)

Proverbs 14:29 says:

A PATIENT man has

great understanding,

but a quick-tempered man displays FOLLY

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 also says: Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.  Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Patience is a virtue!

Female lions (lioness’) do most of the hunting for their family group (pard) and they are verrry patient.  A lot of time is spent stalking, hiding, and waiting for prey.  Although she can run very fast, she can’t run at top speeds for very far so she must rely on her patience and wait for the perfect time to hunt.  She must use her speed and strength wisely or she will fail to feed her family.

Keep calm & believe!

In the bible, Genesis 37:27-28 tells us about Joseph. God showed Joseph in his dreams that he would help save his family.  But, Joseph’s brothers sold him as a slave, and though he did not understand all that was happening, he trusted God to work out His plan in His time.  Joseph patiently worked faithfully in each situation he was in, even when he was thrown into prison and probably wondered why he was sitting in a prison cell, he stiiiiill waited patiently for God to fulfill His promise that Joseph would be a leader of his people. (Genesis 37:5-11)

Love is Patient!

In the New Testament, JESUS tells His disciples to be patient, especially as others treat them badly and even hurt them, He encourages them to wait on Him and love others while doing so.   When people do things that make us impatient, we want to yell, hit or get angry.  But, God wants us to be patient, so that we can have understanding of GOD’S patience with US!
